Easter Festivities

Easter festivities began with a dinner date with our good friend and guitar-playing extraordinaire, Danielle. She brought her new guitar over and played some songs for us. She even let the boys play the guitar and read them some books. She brought us our first Easter treats and they were delicious! Thank you!

Natalie came into town and spoiled the kids silly with painting projects and quality time the whole weekend. On Friday, we all headed out to Grandma's for dinner. The weather was excellent and we enjoyed lots of running around time outside.
And the cousins spent time looking for tractors down the road.
The kids had two birthday parties on Saturday. First up was our neighbor, Drew's 2nd birthday. Sarah had a fish themed party and the kids even got to go fishing. So cool!
Next up was our first trip to Chuck-e-Cheese to celebrate our family friend, Tyler's birthday. I think that Chuck-e-Cheese is the kid equivalent of a casino...tons of lights and sounds. And since the kids have my genes, I knew they'd be fine. They were in a bit of shock when they first walked in, but they slowly got used to it and started playing around. =) Jack was very focused on his video games while he was "teaching" Colin...

Right after the party, I asked Colin what his favorite part was, and he said, "the juice." (The kids don't get too much juice and he loved the punch.) But later in the day, he told me, "Mom, I liked everything about chuck-e-cheese. Everything." Perhaps we'll be headed back there in the near future.
Then it was time for coloring Easter eggs back at home. Jack makes sure that the kids do this every year. I guess it is a mandatory part of the Easter basket.
And on Sunday, Justin woke up screaming, "Easter bunny, Easter baskets!" Jack is in charge of baskets, and the kids scored with new movies, new games, treats, kites and more. (*For the record, this year Colin acknowledged that Jack is the Easter bunny and that fact didn't take an ounce of joy out of the occasion!) And of course, the Easter bunny left me a basket too. =) Easter still remains my favorite holiday of the year.
Then, back to Grandma's for Easter dinner. The boys love their Aunt Natalie time.
The kites were a huge hit...
Finally, it was time for the Easter egg hunt. We did it in Grandma's backyard which made it a ton of fun for the kids.
And opening the eggs. Jack put sugar and non-sugar treats in the eggs. He's such a great Easter Bunny. =)
The celebration continued with cousin Alex's birthday cake!!  Happy Birthday, Alex!!
Hope you had a wonderful weekend.
