A picture perfect weekend

Holy smokes--the weather hit the 80s this weekend. I loved every minute of it!

We went on a family bike ride to campus for SpringFest. With the help of two of his favorite stuffed animals (and a hot dog bun), Colin enjoyed his bike trailer MUCH more this year.
His favorite booth was the bubble booth. You can make bubble solution with Dawn dish soap. 6 parts water to 1 part Dawn. Gotta love Case students!
I made somen to help us cool down. Watching him try to eat with chopsticks was hilarious. The noodles kept sliding down the chopsticks! He eventually gave up and started shoving fistfuls of noodles into his mouth!

We met our good friends (Harvey Family) at the zoo, and Colin was exhausted by the time we got home. Which leads me to my favorite part of the weekend...taking a nap with the little guy!

The weather is warming up

We definitely do not have the 90 degree weather that all of our west coast family is enjoying (or surviving), but our Ohio weather is starting to warm up for us! yeah!

The zoo hosted Earthfest in honor of Earth Day this year. Colin's favorite was the kayaking exhibit.

We went to Preston's HOPE playground for the first time, and Colin loved running around the kid sized town. Riding the cars was also a big hit. Not sure what the boys are checking out--hopefully not a girl.

Our good friends Aarti and Leela (10 mo) came over for a playdate, and Colin LOVES Leela. When Leela was a bit hesitant in crawling to us, Colin walked over and put his hand out. He even kneeled down and held her hand to try and help her. The cutest thing ever!
Lastly, Jack is passing on an Elwell breakfast tradition (so he tells me.) Don't feel left out Kuniharas; I'm teaching Colin how to dip things in ketchup!

And a very big HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY to cousin Anthony!! We can't wait to see you in May...try to convince your mom and dad to take you camping overnight with us! =)

Easter festivities

Monday: Colin had to come home from daycare b/c he had a fever. His first ever!
Tuesday: Colin and I stayed home, watched cartoons and snuggled. He even fell asleep on me--the best ever!Wednesday-Friday: Back to daycare. Not completely 100%, but no fever. Glad that I caught this one on camera!

Sunday: Easter festivities begin...
Jack hid easter baskets for Colin and me! Colin got bubbles & kids cereal bars, and I got chocolate! Thank you. =)

Coach Natalie and I went for a morning walk/jog, and then we were off to Nick & Tami's. The easter egg hunt was fun--mom helped Colin find easter eggs before the "big" kids got to them. Thanks Mom!

For the first time, Colin sat at the kids table. Colin did a good job eating off of his plate, his cousins plates, and snacks from us. By the end of the afternoon, I had to cut him off from more food. He definitely takes after me--just doesn't know when to stop eating!

Words cannot express the laughing, screaming, tumbling, and playing that went on for the rest of the afternoon. Here are some highlights.

Happy Easter! (Colin's first sweater vest.)

Weekend festivities...

1. Colin figured out how to open cereal boxes...
2. We went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Costumes, music, and lots of history. Great for music lovers! Colin also found a new interest--pushing his own stroller. He's with Mom Elwell here...

3. Colin adores his older cousins, Brooke and Reagan. Brooke was cooking for Colin, and Colin loved trying her new creations!
4. Reagan and Brooke taught Colin how to find easter eggs (to get ready for the big easter egg hunt next week). Clearly, they all had to see how many eggs were behind the couch!
5. Painting easter eggs is becoming a tradition at Nick & Tami's house!

6. Also went to the zoo (again); but this time, we went into the petting zoo. Pictures of Colin touching a donkey soon to come...
