Camping!

It's hot and humid, and we went camping. Oh, yes we did. And we had fun.
Haha! Just kidding. We went real camping too. (Grandma was over earlier this week and the boys were showing her how to sleep in a tent.)

Cindy & Rod planned a great 3rd bday party for Connor! They invited us all out camping at American Wilderness, and Cindy recreated Radiator Springs for the party. (Radiator Springs = city in the movie Cars.) Just to name a few of her creations: there was a sheriff station where the kids got their own driver's licenses, race track to race their cardboard cars, and a tattoo parlor. The kids loved it and even came home with the Cars soundtrack! We camped for one night, and enjoyed the swimming lake, kids slide and mining area, and fishing pond.  Oh, and we enjoyed good ol' fashioned camping too.

We had lakefront property. (Or fishing pond-front property)
The swimming area was to the right of the tent. Everything was a very short walk away.

Birthday festivities! The kids picked up their driver's licenses and the Sheriff's station.
Then they found their cars and raced around the track!!! Kids loved it!
Both boys drank more juice boxes on this trip than they have in their entire lifetime.
Happy Birthday Connor! And thank you for a great weekend!
Some of the boys eating cake. Most of Jack's friends have boys - and most of the kids are all around the same age. Very fun for our get-togethers!
Colin loved every moment of this kid slide thing. Climbing up to the top, screaming in the tunnel, popping his head out and running around it to do it all over again!
And Justin loved every moment of this mining thing. A huge cascading water area that allowed kids to sift through dirt and rocks. water + rocks + waterfall = Justin happy land.

The boys had a great time and were pooped by the time we left. (The campsite was only 1 hour away, so a 1-nighter trip was possible. If we do it again, we'll definitely stay at least 2 nights.)
And once home, we got all clean and enjoyed the air conditioning. Nobody asked to go outside to play. Ha!
