1. He can say "zhoo" (zoo), and knows his animal sounds: moo (cow), bah (sheep), ff (dog), sss (snake), bbblll (elephant), ah (monkey), flaps his arms (chicken).
2. ma (mom), da (dad), dah (dog), kee (kitty), buh (bubbles), mo (more), please (sign language), up (up), dow (down), burr (bird), draw (not sure about this one--but he said it twice!)
Let's be clear, I'm not trying to say Colin is a genius-- "ma" and "moo" sound very similar, I just convince myself that he's actually calling me "mom," not the sound a cow makes!! haha
3. he knows his body parts, and can point to his head, hair, eyes, nose, mouth, tongue, ears, belly button, knee, toes (his favorite). My mom actually started teaching him body parts--and he just keeps learning them. My mom also taught him to "roll over, roll over"...and Colin will promptly lie on the ground and start rolling over like a dog. Who knew raising kids could be so much fun.
4. He understands quite a bit and answers our questions with yes and no nods of the head.
5. He finds keys and puts them in doors, feeds his stuffed animals, lotions his stuffed animals (gross!), kisses and hugs people he knows, and high fives strangers.
Latest outing--
We went to Malikh's 4th bday party at the Great Lake Science Center. Colin found the car, and wouldn't leave. He even shooed away some older kids that tried to take over the steering wheel--he definitely held his own, and I could see the pride in Jack's eyes.
We rotated out the kitchen, and put in the tool bench. He loves it!
At home, a pair of birds made a home out of our porch shade. They officially have eggs that they are protecting. Colin loves his "burr" (birds).
And we are so excited to meet Colin's newest cousin, Mitchell Cooper! He was born on April 30, and we'll get to see him in July. Congrats Chris, Evelyn, Ben and Rylee! And Mitchell makes #9 for Grandma Elwell!

Colin- tell your mom to have Amy practice elephant noises with you. You were starting to get the hang of it last time! ;)
I love your translation from phonetics to English. Colin is one smart dude! :)
Haha, Thanks Joe! Once again, let me reinforce, "ma" and "moo" sound awfully similar. ;) And Amy--i'm still trying to make your elephant noises. haha!
Ugh - lotioning his stuffed animals!!! Good idea in theory to a kid, bad idea for the parents who have to deal with it and think of all the grime that will get stuck on it that much easier. But oh so cute!
