Birthday + Fun

Happy Birthday to Jack!!! At his request, no pictures were taken in celebration of his day. =) No fear - plenty of fun was still had. The boys went shopping and picked him out a present. And I had the day off, so we enjoyed a rare work-week lunch date. Good fun and a very happy birthday to Jack!!

In other updates...

It's official. Remember when my parents and grandma visited us in May? Well, they drove out in grandma's car and very generously gifted us her car since she doesn't drive anymore! But on their way to Ohio, a hailstorm did some major damage to the car. After a month of repairs, the car is looking brand-spankin' new and is sporting some Ohio plates! Thank you so much and we love the new ride!

Martha went out for her first outdoor adventure. She loved it and tried to escape the enclosed area that Jack set. It broke Jack's heart and I think he might build her an even bigger outdoor play area...or get her a friend.

We picked up the boys' friend, Chloe, and went for a swim at the pool. Colin spent most of the time practicing his back float. Chloe and Justin loved the slide and goofing around. I even braved the big pool with all 3 kids. We had a blast in the lazy river, slides and twirly whirly area!

When Justin is done, he is done.

Sunday = Zoo Day. I asked for a "dinosaur roar face"...

Their friend, Emily, got a butterfly DIY jewelry box for her birthday. The boys desperately wanted one but we couldn't find anything that wasn't dominated by pink and purple. Do all girls really like pink and purple that much? So we stopped by the art store on the way home from the zoo - they picked out their own paint and made some treasure boxes instead.
Artists at work. Justin = leftie.

How is it mid-July already? We're enjoying and soaking up every bit of summer! Loving it.

Nice car! Pool and zoo loooks sooo much fun. justin doesn't have his baby fat arms anymore - wake up call.. he's not a baby!!! Cute pics of dino roars and Justin passed out!! I also like how you drew circles on the plate to help them separate the paint -- smart mom. And Jack definitely has a big heart for Martha... Thank you for the post - much needed! Have a great week Elwells!
