Jack put up our bird feeder, and we took pictures of the Beachwood wildlife all weekend.
Birds came too, but they were too quick and we didn't get many clear pictures of them. Aunt Natalie bought Colin a bird book; Colin & Jack love looking up all of the different types of birds. Mourning doves, blue jays, sparrows, black birds, red-winged black birds, cardinal (male & female), woodpecker (two different types, I don't remember their names)...and the list goes on. For non-bird life, we have deer, rabbits, chipmunks, squirrels, 1 black cat that eats our chipmunks and 1 groundhog sighting.
Front house flower bed = done! We have so much landscaping that it's overwhelming. Step by step. (Confession: we hired our lawn guy to do this flower bed for us. But, it did motivate us to start working on some of our backyard flower beds over the weekend. More pics to come.)
Jack & the boys picked out these flowers last month...
On Monday, I visited the boys at their swim lessons at school. During the summer, they go 4 days/week.
Justin + Sophie (and the other 3 year olds) hang out in the kiddie area.
Colin (and the other 4 & 5 year olds) have swim lessons in the big pool.
Other happenings:
- Our AC went out last week and Ohio had a 85 degree+ heat wave. We survived and the AC is working again. A huge thanks to our friends who invited us out to dinner to escape the heat all week!
- Justin's phrases: "don't worry about me" and "not a problem."
- Weekend stuff: We manage to get to our community pool once a weekend and we have a blast! Colin has been practicing his back float and front float/kicking. He'll go down the kiddie water slide and go into a back float to see where the water pushes him. So funny to see him in a back float with little toddlers splashing all around him.
- Jack: Summer projects on the rentals. Maintenance on our house. Running a couple times a week. Animal/pet lover in our house.
- Jamie: Hooked on 24; Planning friend dinners, library trips and outings. Cooking. Reading chapter books with Colin. Art project planner. DIY home air freshner maker (to neutralize Martha). Loving the summer life.
- Martha: Still loves romaine lettuce. Won't eat strawberries/blueberries. Got mad at us when we forgot to feed her one morning. Loves her heat lamp.
