Bon Voyage!

We spent the week of Christmas on this boat - "The Allure of the Seas."  It is the largest cruise liner in the world.

It was like a floating vacation city.

After a night in Fort Lauderdale, a taxi drive to the port and a little bit of waiting we finally got on the boat.

The boat has everything.  This is Colin on the rock wall.

Jamie and Lori went Zip lining.  You had to be 75lbs to go.  Colin was 72lbs the first day so they would not let him.  After a lot of eating and some help from a friendly worker he was able to go - several times.

The Boardwalk was a big hit with everyone.  The boys rode the carousel a few dozen times.

One day there was a balloon artist on the Boardwalk.  Colin waited in line for about a half hour for this octopus(?)  Well worth it.

Lori and Jamie having fun.

The card room was a big hit.

Bachan and Colin played rummi.

Justin and Grandma played war.

On the top of the ship you could surf or boogy board.  Colin had a blast boogy boarding.  Jamie went one time.  Be sure to ask her how it went when you see her.

There was even a 9-hole putt-putt course on the top of the ship.

The state rooms were small but comfy.

Our housekeeper, Jackson, left us a couple of surprises.

The boys loved their bed.

The room had a tv with Carribean television.  This show was a big hit.  "You are known as the supernoobs" (in Arnold Schwarzenegger voice).

The ship stopped three times - Nassau, St. Martin and St. Thomas.  This is a small local beach in Nassau.  We rented a taxi van there and drove around the island.  It was small but beautiful.  We stopped in a few different places.

Just a tiny McDonalds.

St. Maartin was the best stop.  Here's my beautiful wife overlooking the beach in front of the main street.

Me in front of the cheese store.  I was told I "look like a cheese guy."  I'm gonna have to work on my look.

Somewhere along the line the boys got new sunglasses.  They were a big hit.

The haircuts they got when we returned were not such a big hit.  Haha.

What do Ninjas drink?

Waa - taaa.

The food on the ship was amazing.  Windjammer Cafe was the favorite.  Buffet style and everything was great.  We went to Izumi's for Jamie's birthday.  She was so happy to finally get asian food.

After Mexican night, Lori had a burrito baby.  Or is it a real baby?  Colin and Justin would love another cousin, Lori.  Haha.

Bachan's favorite restaurant was this hot dog stand.  I didn't even know Bachan liked hot dogs.  The boys and Lori were playing catch with a toy in front of the hot dog stand and it got stuck on the sign.  The poor workers spent about 15 minutes retrieving it.

The only night we didn't go out for dinner was Christmas night.  We ordered room service and watched the Cavs play the Warriors.  The cavs lost but we all enjoyed watching Bachan cheer for Golden State - except Justin who couldn't handle Bachan's screeming and had to go to the other room with Grandma and Jichan.

Breakfast with the DreamWorks characters.

The Kunihara Girls.

Lori and Jamie at Windjammer Cafe.

It was a amazing week - I didn't cover half of it in this post (Be sure to ask Danny about his casino trip).

Thanks for taking care of the boys Bachan and Lori.

Thanks for handling most of the dining and entertainment planning, hon.

Thanks for running with me everyday Lori.

Thanks for all of the planning and work you did, Danny.  And thanks for sharing your casino winnings.

Thanks so much for the vacation, Grandma.  We'll remember it forever.

Wow! That captures the whole trip! Great job Jack! Two other memories for me were 1) Jack and Jamie's "Asian themed dinner" (hahaha), and 2) Colin enjoying the musical, Momma Mia. Thanks for being the historian Jack. Jamie, can I order a Shutterfly booklet? I love it, I love it, I love it!!!!
